History
Welcome to my website. I am Susan Redlick-Hewitson, the proprietor of EquiVisions Unlimited and better known to some in the horse industry, as “Susan the Horse Lady”.
I have been an avid equestrian since childhood and through the years have established a diverse background in the horse industry, which includes horse ownership, product development and experience coordinating and promoting horse industry initiatives locally, provincially and internationally. These initiatives include involvement with such notable events as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Equitana, Equine Affaire and the Georgian Horse Fair. I am a certified Promotional Coordinator with over 25 years of practical events planning and production experience, including my personal passion for equestrian-based programming.
Skeeter and Me
The idea for my company became known to me several years ago in a dreamlike vision. Today, that vision is a reality. The seed for the idea was planted when, as a horse owner, I could not easily find the information and services I needed to provide daily follow-up care for my mare Skeeter, who had acutely foundered after undergoing colic surgery. I learned first hand the incredible frustration a care provider can experience while treating a chronic foot condition (Laminitis). The journey was long and hard and in the end it became my life’s passion to create and support opportunities to share industry knowledge that would help fellow horse owners provide for the care and welfare of their equine companions. This passion gave birth to the vision for my company and the services it would provide.
It is my belief that the future strength and viability of the horse industry depends strongly on the exchange of knowledge. As such, it is my goal, as the proprietor of EquiVisions Unlimited, to produce learning events and information resources that educate and empower the horse owner, while providing opportunities for industry providers to promote their products and services directly to their equestrian customers. With this exchange of knowledge, I believe understanding, skills and choices will be expanded giving the responsible horse owner the power to make informed decisions that once applied can improve the health and optimize the performance of the equine.
